I got my stuff back. What a blessing, and a trippy situation. I never expected to get it ALL back, but I did, minus the missing guitar cases, my laptop case and bag with a bunch of my songwriting books and stuff.
They can tease me, but I'll say it again and again, the power of positive vibes, prayers, etc everyone bonding together on the internet, twitter, facebook, etc. is what brought the stuff back to me. Its amazing, and I'm tripping out, but I know the universe conspires to assist in making dreams realities for those who persist.... ha ha... yeah, yeah Anu....
So the showcase at the Mint was excellent! We had a great turnout, and thank you so much to all my friends who showed up to support. Booking agents, people from radio stations, and LA locals were all in attendance, and we got some great feedback! My producer Drew K actually filled in for Mikey on keys, and Drew did amazing! The band boys said it was so awesome to meet, and to play with the guy who wrote their parts for bass, guitar, drums, etc. We missed Mikey though, and blessings to him and his fam. Vince is missed as well, but Bin did a great job.
After the Mint we went out into Hollywood and hit up some of my friend's promotions...The Geisha house for sushi (amaaaaazing!) and karaoke, then Villa Lounge for a cocktail. I got a no seatbelt ticket in the backseat... Grrrrrr... (I hope everyone knows I'm more than willing to make mistakes FOR you so you can learn from them! I have no problem with paving the way! LOL) But all in all, LA was good fun, but a bit too much! Was looking forward to heading back to the 808.
Upon returning I found out that couple people were arrested in conjunction with the stolen guitars, and that my friend's mom found the computers at the swap meet.. lots more strange details that I can't really divulge, but all I have to say is this was NOT a publicity stunt, it was TRUE, REAL ALOHA SPIRIT IN ITS FINEST FORM! And I'm so proud and happy and blessed. Give thanks. And it reinforces the fact that people DO pay attention to everything you do now a days: I posted one thing on Twitter regarding the guitars and by the time I drove from Waikiki to Hawaii Kai, the entire friggen island was talking about it. News crews were at my house not an hour later, and I got all my stuff back within a week. Blessed, but it shows that we DO have the ability to rally together and make stuff happen!!!!!
This next month our goals will include getting a MUSIC VIDEO done... we are talking to some directors, getting pitches and budgets in order, cause that's a vital thing we haven't touched on yet. Also doing a few local gigs, and practices, and promotions. The album is still on iTunes for $5.99 at the moment. www.itunes.com/anuhea
Anxious to get moving again... feels like when I'm cruizing I want to be hustling, and when I'm hustling I want to be cruizing...
