Whew! That a way to start a blog, Anu! Start one then don't do anything for like 5 days! Ha! Times have been super busy lately... island hopping, lots of interviews and local gigs here in Hawaii. We just got done doing a series of shows with Mishka here on his Hawaii tour. Mishka is an amaaazing songwriter and singer from Bermuda, and under Matthew Macaughnahay's j.k. living record label. Seriously check his music out if you like conscious roots. Well I played in Kona at Rockstarz, and those people are so awesome. VIP area, very good sound, awesome venue. Wish we had a little more promotion, but I got to cruize with Kimie my bff, and sing some karaoke at Ocean's afterwards! Stayed with Curtis (@oddmanout75) at the Sheraton (I love living in hotels.. some do, some don't, I DOO!) and then returned to Oahu. Had a bigger show with Ooklah, David Tamaoka, Mishka and my full band the next night at Pipeline Cafe. Lots of my friends showed up which was great!
The following day we gave back to the troops and played at Fort Shafter for the Pacific Army Reserve Spring Fest for the families of Hawaii's Army. The Verve Pipe, Mishka, my band, One Right Turn, country star Craig Morgan, C & K, were all performing.
Warren is still in town and we're talking about how to maximize the potential for getting some real exposure from the week that iTunes will be featuring me as their new artist of the week.. Tuesday the 19th of May 4 million people will receive an email where they can download "Right Love Wrong Time" for free, and my album will be available for $5.99. This could be huge, but my band and I have to be prepared to represent that AWESOME exposure with a great show. I know I'm feeling a bit unconfident about my image right now, feeling the pressures of constant pictures and videos... sheish... cuz when people pressure me to do something, I tend to shut down or self-sabatoge my success... WHY? I don't know... but that's why I wrote "Here I Go Again" and "Endlessly"... I'm sure there will be more to write about during this ride!
