September 28 - October 3rd, 2009 We left Tokyo for the three hour flight East to the island of Guam. There's some crazy swine flu hype going on, and since everyonewas wearing these masks, we couldn't help but want to jump on the safety train.
Looks strangely like Hawaii from the air...
From our sick ass hotel room...
That night we met our awesome P.O.C. (Point of Contact) for GuamC.T. and his band Rock Bottom at a local bad ass bar, Casa Nami.We jammed, apparently... good time.
Next day we had some traditional Chomorro food.
..and watched on TV as a Typhoon formed and was heading our way.
Instead of laying low and hiding out, we decided to record an EP!6 tracks, 3 originals, 3 covers of our favorite songs. We told our planto the hotel managers and they hooked us up with the use of thePresidential Suite on the top floor, the suite that Carmen Electraactually LIVED in for months! lol Was a sick room. We rigged itwith mics, CT hooked us up with some equipment, and it was on.Right Love Wrong Time, Big Deal, Here I Go Again.... then Birthday Sex,Come Over Love, and Put Your Records On. Can't wait till its donebeing processed, cause this is going to be hella hot.
Next night we had our first show at Top of the Mar... awesome turnoutgreat vibes, and Mongolian BBQ! Cheee..
We got to hang with the Rock Bottom boys and friends at their house, and all I'll say is the peeps of Guam are amazing. Talented, generous, beautiful people. Such an amazing time.
On our way to the second show at Anderson Air Base, we stoppedat a scenic point for our last day in Guam. This place reminded meso much of Kalaupapa Moloka'i in Hawaii... breathtaking.
My pahtnah, aka tour manager Jamie feeling wispy!
Next morning it was up bright and early for the airport, and luckilythey had our fave... SPAM MUSUBI. What a great way to end thebest trip of my LIFE!!!!!!
LOL... No but seriously..This AFE tour was incredible. I got to see things I've never seen before, meet and connect with so many interesting, fun amazing people, eat new foods, perform for thousands, gain new fans, and best of all got to play MUSIC every single day. How awesome it was to bring aloha to the lives of the troops who are working so far a way from home over seas. I truly can't wait to do it again. We are hoping to jump on another AFE Tour currently in the works for Europe this winter. Should be another life-changing experience that I look forward to sharing with you.
