Just wanted to give everyone a heads up what I'm doing this holiday season...
Tomorrow (Tuesday December 15th) I'm taking part in the Toys for Tots Mahalo Party which will be held at Senor Frogs in Waikiki.
If you donated a toy between December 1st and December 10th, you get invited to this exclusive Mahalo Party where there'll be raffles, prizes, and live entertainment. Its okay if you forgot to donate! You can still come, with a toy and enjoy the music the night of the party (just aren't eligible for drawings, raffles, etc). Should be fun tomorrow! Full band, and for a great cause. Toys for Kids at Christmas mang, you remember how stoked you were to get presents at Christmas! Help the keiki. Check www.toysfortots.org for more info on how you can help, and to make a donation!
Also next week are the annual Christmas tradition of the Na Leo Christmas Concerts which are going down on December 20th, 22nd and 23rd at the Hale Koa Hotel Luau Gardens. Check www.naleo.net to get tickets and more info!!
Heading to the Big Island of Hawaii and playing two shows at WAI in Hilo! This one should be cool, I get to play with my girl Kimie for the first full show with us together! If you haven't heard of my BFF Kimie yet, you need to. www.myspace.com/playkimie. We were roommates in high school (boarding in the dorms) so we basically would ditch waterpolo practice to play music in our room instead! That show is Friday December 19th, an all ages one at 530 and then the party peeps at 1030. More info at www.kwxx.com
Hope everyone is not freaking out too much this year with the lack of funds we all probably have.. Don't worry! Remember, Christmas and the Holidays are not about how much you spend or what gift you bring. Its about the love, the fam, and showing your appreciation for the one's you care for. Make something! Some cheapo gifts that mean a lot but don't cost a lot... Sing a song on YouTube and dedicate to them (everyone loves a shout out!) Make a collage on a picture frame (i love surf mags, Japanese tourist mags (color) and funky fashion magazines). Make a plan for a coffee date to talk and catch up! Potted plants/flowers are my fave (pretty cheap) and if all else, just a nice letter. ORRRRRR an Anuhea CD! (you can gift them on iTunes (still just $5.99) and they'll get an email with the directions for them to download. Actual albums available in Walmart, Kmart, Borders, Barnes N Noble, Best Buy, Nordstrom, Whole Foods, and independent record stores on every island in Hawaii, and about half of the above around the NATION!
PS Cool story of the day:
My bfs friend said he heard my song "Right Love Wrong Time" on the radio in Northern California!!! yessss its happening!
