My Just Keep Jamming podcast, v 3.0

Here's the FULL background on my precious little labor of love: my Just Keep Jamming Podcast.

For most of my life, I was reluctant to ask for help. I had always believed that I could handle everything on my own and felt guilty about requesting assistance. As a result, I never took the time to rest, reflect or practice self-care. I was always working, always in a hurry, never stopping to notice that I was only a shadow of the person I wanted to be. However, when the pandemic hit, life pretty much kicked my ass, and I eventually hit a low point. I suddenly understood I needed a drastic change.

I made the tough decision to take a month off and away from my life to completely reset myself and embark on a journey of self-discovery at a holistic mental health and wellness center located here on the Big Island.

During my stay there, I learned some crucial lessons that helped me rediscover myself. I practiced healthy eating, yoga, and meditation, and attended therapy sessions, both group and individual. I figured out my life's purpose, which is to inspire. For the first time in forever, I had the opportunity to focus solely on myself, which was absolutely life-changing. At the end of the month, I was determined to continue on the path of positivity that I had learned there.

All the changes I made caused a shift in my way of thinking. I realized that I had outgrown some of the people in my life. Business partners, band members, friends, and sadly, even the person I had just married. It was scary to experience such growth, and the journey was not easy, but I knew that I had to stay true to myself and what I wanted and needed out of my life. My ultimate goal was to love myself again so that I could continue to give love to the people around me. I even came up with a phrase for it - Aloha Thyself.

Prior to the pandemic, I was already conducting live streams and therapy-style sessions with my friends on Instagram and YouTube. But with the launch of my new Patreon account, I decided to turn these deep and entertaining talks into an official podcast. So in May 2021, I recorded the first episode of Just Keep Jamming, which had a zoom room audience consisting of friends and fans. The theme of the podcast was centered around connection, mental health, and music. Every week, I invite a close friend, a fellow musician, or even mental health professional to join me on the podcast to discuss topics that we might not usually have a chance to talk about. The meetings not only benefited the listeners, but also gave me a rewarding feeling that I was making a positive impact on the world.

After taking a year-long break, I'm thrilled to be back with some fantastic improvements to the production and content. I aim to continue making a positive impact through the power of connection, and I'm excited to see where this podcast will take us.

Our goals are simple: to keep people connected and engaged, to give you valuable takeaways for everyday life, and to create a safe, supportive space for anyone who needs it. We are dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, fostering positive change in the world, and having some fun while we're at it.
